Our echo department consists of highly skilled sonographers that use state-of-the-art equipment to image and evaluate a patient’s heart. One of the first tools used to evaluate heart function is an echocardiogram. This non-invasive test uses sound waves (ultrasound) to create detailed, moving images of the heart and valves. An echocardiogram can be used to diagnose, evaluate and monitor a number of conditions including: abnormal heart valves, congenital heart disease, heart murmurs, pericarditis, endocarditis, pulmonary hypertension and atrial fibrillation.
